Team Amicus helps the Starlight children`s foundation.

On the 16th of July 2009 three members of Amicus VMS participated in the Annual Charity golf day organised by Signature Flight Support.

In total £5115.47 was raised by all participants for this worth while cause.

We are proud to announce that Signature Flight Support has chosen Amicus VMS to supply their asset management requirements at Luton Airport. The Amicus solution has been installed into selected key assets to utilise all the benefits that can be obtained from a state of the art system.

The main benefit over the MK3.5 is the introduction of the Siemens TC65 quad band modem to the Amicus solution. This all important addition means the Amicus solution can be installed and operated in any part of the world utilising the countries GPRS network.

Servis Air has now implemented the introduction of the Amicus solution to key vehicles at East Midlands Airport. The Amicus system is monitoring the use and increasing profitability by means of auto weekly reports directed at key personnel.

Go-Ahead Plc Aviation Division awards Amicus VMS 5 Year Supply Agreement

The Aviation Division of the Go-Ahead Group Plc has awarded Amicus VMS a five year supply agreement to provide both hardware and asset management software system.

Prior to this agreement, Amicus VMS have provided their solution to a number of companies within the Aviation Division and helped to address areas of utilization and productivity of assets including both staff and vehicles. Since implementing the Amicus VMS system cost savings in excess of 20% have been realized and the return on investment can be as little as 3 months.

Continual development and flexibility in line with customer expectations is core to Amicus VMS philosophy. The Amicus VMS system uses state of the art technology incorporating GSM and GPRS (general package radio signal) and information can be viewed on-line via a secure internet browser.

The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company implement the Amicus Vehicle Management System in one of their UK ports

Working in partnership with Linde Material Handling Amicus VMS has installed in excess of 100 Amicus VMS units in their fleet of material handling equipment ranging from 5 Ton electric vehicles up to container movers and tractor units.

The Amicus VMS solution was chosen to help increase productivity of both equipment and operators and to aid with health and safety legislation.

This was done with the use of driver ID and vehicle / license categories preventing untrained staff operating the equipment and the management reporting suite to provide vehicle utilization and productivity information key to running of the port.

Amicus previews online GSE utilisation application

Identifying the need to allocate both vehicles and staff to flight schedules can be very time consuming and a difficult task within a busy airport environment. Amicus VMS Ltd can now provide a solution offering a new innovative online GSE tool. This tool works in conjunction with the vehicle management system and will enable the operator to integrate data between the two software applications.

The system features a built in report generator providing both graphical and detailed statistics on GSE and staff utilization.

Cost effective and scalable solution – the application can be customized to suit individual needs of a GSE operator. Different levels of access and visibility can be applied to different levels of management if required.

This is a web based application providing multi tiered secure access irrespective of location and no specialist software is required except internet browser version 6 and above.

The new GSE tool was previewed at the InterAirport exhibition in Munich, Germany and will be introduced to customers during November 2005.

Amicus VMS adds in functionality to the MK3.5 unit

The new production version of the Amicus VMS system, classified the Mark 3.5 has a number of advantages over the previous Mark 3 version, these are detailed below:-

The unit is able to be operated from either a 12V or 24V vehicle supply. This eliminates the use of 24V voltage droppers, which are currently required on all 24V vehicle installations. This saves the cost of the dropper itself and the engineers’ time to fit it to the system.

In addition to the dual voltage operation, the Mark 3.5 is able to operate from the vehicle battery, which insures that journey collection is not interrupted if the battery on the Amicus unit is discharged. In this mode, the modem module is not operational, but the journeys will be stored for the 45 minutes it takes to charge the unit battery, when it will automatically connect (if the unit is operating in GPRS mode) and upload the journeys to the server.

The Mark 3.5 unit is fitted with a power switch, which can be operated without the need to open the box and saves time during the installation process and protects the electronic circuitry within.
The box design has been changed on the Mark 3.5 unit. It is now manufactured from pressed steel construction rather than the previous cast box which was used on the Mark 3 unit. This was necessary to accommodate the larger size of the new printed circuit board.

All the connectors on the Mark 3.5 Amicus unit are now situated on the same side of the unit, which simplifies the installation, which saves time and produces a tidier and more professional job.

Mike Bradshaw one of the founders of Amicus VMS Ltd will now be heading up Amicus VMS US operations. He will concentrate on support systems, including all aviation sector GSE maintenance and aircraft servicing equipment.
